By definition, a public auction is open to all. Any private individual can buy. If a bidder does not see his bid topped by a higher bid, then the sale is awarded to him. Before all auctions, the items to be offered for sale are exhibited for three days: Thursdays from 10 am to 6 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 6 pm, continuously.<\/p>

A sales catalogue can be consulted on the website www.legia-auction.com and a paper version at the auction house. The catalogue provides details of the lots to be auctioned.<\/p>

Participation in the auction implies unconditional acceptance of the terms of sale of the L\u00e9gia-Auction action house.<\/p>

How to participate<\/strong><\/p>

Anyone who wants to take part in the auction registers on arrival and receives a card with bidder number. For each lot purchased he or she must show this number so that the purchases can be booked to his account.<\/p>

Anyone unable to attend on the day of the auction has the following bidding options:<\/p>

  • Provide us with a purchase order: a document that is downloaded or obtained at the pre-auction exhibiting of the lots and on which the bidder indicates the lot number, description and amount he would pay to purchase it, excluding costs.<\/li>
  • Provide us with an order for a telephone call for the lots for which he wishes to be contacted by the auction house. The sale is then made live just as if the bidder were present at the auction room.<\/li>
  • Indicate purchase orders under the section \u201cMy account\u201d on our website, after registering.<\/li>
  • By electronic mail to: ccntact@legia-auction.com.<\/li><\/ul>

    In the case of purchase orders for the same lot for the same amount received from different bidders, priority will be awarded to the first bid submitted. The L\u00e9gia-Auction auction house cannot be held responsible for any mistakes reported by the purchaser when indicating or describing a lot or in giving a telephone number or other information.<\/p>

    The purchaser is deemed to be acting in his own name and on his own behalf, even for lots acquired as a proxy. He is bound by the awarding of the sale. However, the L\u00e9gia-Auction auction house remains free to refuse to award the sale, even after the auction has ended, without having to give a reason for its decision.<\/p>

    The purchaser will pay the amount of the bid plus a commission of 25%, including VAT + 3% Drouot fee ( if purchased via the platform and online auction) .For Automobiles see general conditions. Payment and collection of the lots must be made after the sale and within 5 days of the auction, between Monday and Friday from 10 am to noon and 2 pm to 5 pm.<\/p>

    The purchaser only acquires ownership of the item on full and final payment of the price and related costs. He cannot take delivery until this payment is final. We remind you that any risks regarding the lots are transferred in full to the purchaser as from the moment of awarding the sale. The same applies to the packaging, handling and transport.<\/p>

    In accordance with the Belgian legislation concerning copyright and similar, the purchaser is also, if applicable, liable for the resale right for the benefit of the artists and authors of the works sold, in addition to the total sale price of the item. This obligation remains even in the case when the claim for these royalties is made after the sale or collection of the lot, without any time limit.<\/p>

    L\u00e9gia-Auction will not intervene in any possible dispute concerning whether or not the resale right claim is well founded.<\/p>

    How to pay the amount of your purchase:<\/strong><\/p>

    Payment is due within 5 days following the sale:<\/p>

    • in cash, up to the limit of the legislation in force<\/li>
    • by money transfer<\/li>
    • by certified cheque<\/li>
    • by bank card<\/li><\/ul>
